Meet Fre’Drisha “Sha” Dixon

Fre’Drisha “Sha” Dixon is a California-licensed attorney, executive leader, and longtime Inglewood resident who has spent her career fighting for justice, accountability, and community self-determination.

She lives in Inglewood, raises her family here, and for more than a decade has worked alongside residents, parents, workers, and small business owners to protect the city’s future while ensuring that progress benefits everyone, not just a powerful few.

Sha is running for Mayor because Inglewood deserves leadership that is ethical, competent, and accountable; leadership that tells the truth, manages public resources responsibly, and puts residents first.

Executive & Legal Leadership

Sha is the Managing Attorney of Dixon Law Partners, a multi-practice law firm serving clients across California State Courts and the Central and Southern Districts of the U.S. District Courts. As Managing Attorney, she oversees firm operations, personnel, compliance, strategy, and high-stakes litigation across civil rights, criminal defense, contracts, family law, probate, and estate planning.

Running a law firm requires disciplined budgeting, decisive leadership, risk management, and accountability, the same skills required to effectively run a city government.

At the core of Sha’s work is a simple belief:
government and the law should serve people, not power.

Public Service & Courtroom Experience

Sha earned her Juris Doctor from Trinity Law School and is an active member of the State Bar of California. While in law school, she served as President of the Black Law Students Association, leading advocacy efforts focused on equity, institutional accountability, and student leadership.

She gained hands-on experience as a Law Clerk with the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office, working in juvenile and adult courts in Inglewood and Compton. She later served as a Deputy Public Defender, representing individuals and families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

This experience sharpened her ability to assess risk, manage crises, negotiate outcomes, and make decisions grounded in both compassion and public responsibility.

Governance, Policy & Accountability

Sha’s leadership extends beyond the courtroom into systems-level reform.

She is a lead organizer with the Inglewood Coalition for Educational Equity (Stop IUSD School Closures Coalition), where she has worked to demand transparency, fiscal accountability, and civil-rights compliance within public education.

Most recently, Sha helped author and release the IUSD Report Card in collaboration with the ACLU of Southern California. The report provides a comprehensive evaluation of governance, financial oversight, and civil-rights compliance within the Inglewood Unified School District, offering clear recommendations for corrective action.

At the state level, Sha drafted and advocated for the California Public School Sovereignty Act, legislation designed to protect public education, preserve local control, and prevent destabilizing school closures and privatization.

Community Leadership & Public Safety

Sha believes real public safety, strong schools, and economic opportunity begin with empowered communities.

She works closely with grassroots organizations focused on mutual aid, civic education, and community-based solutions. She also facilitates the Marvin Jackson, Roland and Ronald Freeman Black Panther Breakfast Program at Simply Wholesome, a long-standing initiative centered on nourishment, fellowship, and civic engagement.

These efforts reflect her belief that sustainable leadership is built on trust, education, and shared responsibility.

Family, Service & Commitment to Inglewood

Sha is a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated, a historically Black sorority founded by educators and rooted in service, leadership, and social action.

As a mother and longtime Inglewood resident, Sha understands firsthand how housing policy, development decisions, school governance, and public safety affect families in real time. She has seen the consequences of closed-door decision-making and has spent her career ensuring residents have both a voice and real power.

In 2022, Sha ran for Mayor of Inglewood and finished second, coming within three percentage points of triggering a runoff. That campaign was built on grassroots organizing and a clear vision: a city where growth does not mean displacement, transparency is the standard, and leadership is accountable to the people.

She remains committed to closing that gap and leading Inglewood with integrity, competence, and courage.

A Leader Ready to Serve

Everything Sha Dixon does, whether in the courtroom, executive leadership, legislative advocacy, or community spaces, is guided by a commitment to justice, good governance, and self-determination.

She believes deeply in Inglewood and believes the city is ready for leadership that is both bold and capable.

Together, we can build an Inglewood where residents and small businesses thrive, public trust is restored, and the city’s future is protected for generations to come.
